Decorating a Small Space
Modern homes in the city usually have limited space. It takes discipline to limit belongings to the bare necessities. If you are used to having a television set in every room in a country home, in the city, you will have to make do with a portable LCD TV. You will have to forget about a spacious kitchen with a window overlooking a garden. Your kitchen will just have enough space for a couple of pots and pans and just enough plates and bowls for everyday use.
The trick in decorating small spaces is in the use of multifunctional furniture. Sleeping furniture can take several forms. Futons and day beds will function as a bed at night and couch during the day. Trunks will make a great coffee table with lots of storage inside. Add a cushion on the trunk and it becomes an ottoman.
