For years, people have tried incorporating biometrics into everyday objects. Doors, laptops, and passports are just some of the things that require the scanning of specific body parts to gain access. Biometric safes are becoming a trend in today’s home security business. They allow faster access and are much safer than the traditional safes. It’s the wave of the future.

Additional features of biometric safes, aside from the fingerprint identification technology, are the fire liners that offer 30 minutes of fire protection. This electronic safe needs 4 AA-batteries to run. The 2 1/2-inch thick solid steel doors and the active round locking bolts, which are 3/4-inch in diameter, ensure that the safe cannot be pried open easily. It can store up to at least 30 fingerprint users. Mechanical and external power overrides are possible if in case the safe suddenly malfunctions.
