I grew up in the 70s and 80s. In the 80s, the walkman was everywhere. The walkman was a light and portable cassette player that came with earphones. The walkman allowed people to bring their music with them everywhere. The walkman was eventually replaced by the discman when CDs were introduced. Today the iPod is much smaller and is more portable than ever. People who listen to them all day can have a charger in their office, at home and an iPod car charger as well.

The iPod car charger is very practical to have. Most people who own an iPod charge them by plugging them to their laptops. If you leave your laptop at home or in the office, you might need an extra charger. Even if you bring your laptop with you in the car, it will make more sense to charge your iPod using your iPod charger. This way, your iPod can be ready to go as soon as you get out of your car for that jog or that hike perhaps.
