portable GPS units

Personal navigation has become a way of life among road travelers. They carry portable GPS units to guide them around locations that they are not familiar with. GPS components can come as a separate unit that can be hand held or installed in cars. Some software programs are also installed in cell phones. I don’t know what can be more portable than that.

Choosing the best portable GPS units is based on ratings that are dependent on a dozen elements that are methodically reviewed in laboratories. Some of the elements looked for are calculation time, ease of programming, mount design and detour options and performance. These units are also evaluated in different scenarios – rural, suburban and urban. This information, together with specifications relating to the physical attributes such as dimension and weight are made available. This will be a big help in choosing the best portable GPS unit to purchase.
