electricity safety tips

Electricity is a very important commodity in our life. We need it in almost anything that we do. However, it is a dangerous commodity; it should be handled with great care. First off, electrical installations and repairs should always be handled by a licensed electrician. Trying to do it on your own can result in disaster.

In the home, we should always of conscious about how we handle appliances that are plugged into an electric outlet. Here are a few electricity safety tips:~Don’t remove a plug from a power point by pulling on the cord; pull the plug instead.~Use socket covers on sockets accessible to young children.~Switch off and unplug electrical items that are not in regular use. ~Do not use any electrical items in the bathroom unless specifically designed for use there such as electric shaver and toothbrush. Even with these items however, take care not to get wet and avoid plugging and unplugging with wet hands.~Do not use items with damaged cords so that the wires are exposed. Either repair orreplace. Check items regularly.
