With the advent of the GPS systems, getting lost will be harder. One of the best of the GPS gadgets is the ACR personal locator beacon.

The ACR personal locator beacon will help you in an emergency situation. The difference between GPS units and the ACR beacon is the GPS will tell exactly where you are when you get lost. If you get injured or unable to escape, a GPS unit will not help. The ACR beacon will alert the authorities to your exact position. It is a must tool for adventurers.
