If you have seen the movie “Conair”, you might remember the scene where the DEA official almost shot down a small plane carrying a group of tourists by mistake. The DEA official was actually planning to shoot down a plane carrying a group of convicts that had hijacked a plane. During a stopover one of the convicts removed the airplane ELT or (emergency locator transmitter) and placed it inside the small plane being used for tours.
The airplane ELT is one of the most important gadgets a plane should have. This device will pinpoint their location to a control center. This has proven time and time again its usefulness. The airplane ELT should also be able to pinpoint the plane’s location even when the plane has crashed. This ELT can save lives because it is able to transmit the plane’s exact location and allow the rescue teams to reach the plane as soon as possible.
