Most hobbies, such as underwater photographer, need special equipment. There are two main ways of taking pictures under the sea: one is to bring a dedicated underwater camera or use an underwater camera housing to protect your regular camera from getting wet.
There’s a different housing for each different model of camera as the positions of camera controls vary considerably even in different models from the same manufacturer. These days, more and more underwater photographers prefer going digital than using film. One big advantage is the ease of use provided by the large LCD at the back of the camera instead of needing to squint through a viewfinder of a film camera.
